When the standard advice just isn’t enough
Caregiver Guidance
“Some things can only be learned by personal experience…
Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia/ amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), non-verbal profound autism…these aren’t just conditions to me, they are members of my family and people I love.”
-Dr. Diaz
What does caregiver-focused coaching look like?
We will:
Go beyond generic, one-size fits all caregiving guidelines to tailor the care to you and your loved one
Maintain focus on preserving dignity, safety, and quality of life (including joy)
Explore the family and/or care-giving system and its members
Understand your place in that system
Engage in real-world, “here and now” problem solving, e.g. challenging behaviors, sleep issues, etc.
Navigate medical systems and care decisions
Work with cognitive and emotional challenges
Plan ahead with clarity and compassion
