When the standard advice just isn’t enough

Caregiver Guidance

“Some things can only be learned by personal experience…

Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia/ amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), non-verbal profound autism…these aren’t just conditions to me, they are members of my family and people I love.”

-Dr. Diaz

What does caregiver-focused coaching look like?

We will:

  • Go beyond generic, one-size fits all caregiving guidelines to tailor the care to you and your loved one

  • Maintain focus on preserving dignity, safety, and quality of life (including joy)

  • Explore the family and/or care-giving system and its members

  • Understand your place in that system

  • Engage in real-world, “here and now” problem solving, e.g. challenging behaviors, sleep issues, etc.

  • Navigate medical systems and care decisions

  • Work with cognitive and emotional challenges

  • Plan ahead with clarity and compassion
